Should I Buy A Treadmill? 5 Reason’s Why YOU Should!

Did you know that walking, jogging and running are considered one of the best cardiovascular exercises you can pursue these days. These activities have numerous physical benefits for your lungs, heart and circulatory system. These types of exercises also help to increase the toning of your muscles as well as burning off fat calories. It costs very little to get started, as all you need is a comfortable pair of running shoes and some sports clothing. However, most people enjoy exercising outdoors when they can. The weather plays an important part in terms of your motivation to get outside and become active.

The people I have spoken to who train outside have mixed views about weather conditions. Some prefer the dry weather whilst others actually enjoy exercising in the rain. There opinion is “Well… I sweat anyway, so I’m going to get wet whether its dry weather or not!”. I guess this is a fair point. However, I do favor the idea of running in the dry weather with a little breeze in my face to help me cool off. For folks that are interested in purchasing a treadmill for the first time, they tend to take their time and rightfully so. A good treadmill is not cheap and you want to make sure that your investment in a device like this is going to give you some return. Lets talk about some of the reason’s why you should go out and buy a treadmill.

Convenience

The first point I want to make is the fact that having your own treadmill at home offers a wealth of convenience to you. Think about it for a moment. You’ve just landed home from a long days work and your feeling a little lathargic. The thoughts of having to go outside or visit the gym seems like a hassle. You know that working out for 20-30 minutes is going to lift your spirits and get you back in the right frame of mind. Owning your own treadmill means that you dont have to venture outside. At your own convenience, you can hop on the treadmill and start working out. This is actually one of the primary reason’s why people buy these machines… it offers them convenience!

Work Out in Privacy

Are you over weight? If so, do you feel self-conscious about your weight? Many people that are over weight are very self-conscious about their problem. They know that they have to go out there and exercise to lose those pounds. This usually involves going out in public and exercising. For a lot of overweight people this tends to scare them as they feel self-conscious about their appearance and their ability to exercise. Even thin people feel that way at the beginning. However, owning a piece of fitness equipment at home such as a treadmill allows you to workout in the privacy of your own space and therefore eliminating any fear you maybe experiencing about exercising in public.

Cost Effective

If you compare the purchase of a decent treadmill (We are talking $1,200-$1,500) with the price of a yearly gym membership over a 2-3 year period, you’d come to the conclusion that after a two and a half to three year period, you’d have paid the same amount for gym membership as you would for a good quality treadmill. Provided that you are just interested in working out on a treadmill, you would incur no other expenses (Provided you bought a treadmill with a great guarantee) after that 2-3 year period and you’d still have your treadmill to exercise on.

Easy On the Joints

Most people that run outdoors tend to run on surfaces that are made of hard concrete. If you continue to run on these types of surfaces, you may start to experience ache’s and pains in areas such as your ankles, knee’s, hips etc. Most of the modern treadmill’s on the market these days come with their own unique treadmill belt technology, which is designed to reduce the impact on your joints. If you suffer from aches and pains whilst walking/jogging/running, then its technology like this that really makes a difference when it comes to asking the question: “Should I buy a treadmill?”

Plenty Of Variety In Your Training

These days you’ll find that there is plenty of workout programs to choose from on most of the modern treadmills. Some of the programs include manual mode, hill walking, calorie burner, heart strength training, distance goal etc. Some treadmills even monitor your heart rate and you can check out interesting metrics such as speed, distance traveled, workout time etc. Having this variety at hand enables you to enjoy your workout and gain the maximum amount of satisfaction from your training.

So there you have it, these are my five reason’s why you should purchase a treadmill. Do you have any other reasons why someone should invest into a treadmill? Please comment below.
