Some Treadmill Buying Tips To Consider

Buying a treadmill is a huge step forward to your fitness and health. If you are buying a treadmill for home use, you are probably pretty serious about getting in shape and/or losing weight. I know from personal experience that having a treadmill handy at home is an incredible advantage.

Many people have to adapt a certain mindset before going to the gym and will make excuses to not workout in public gyms when they aren’t in the mood. When you have access to exercise equipment at home, working out every day becomes much more feasible. Even on days when you are very short on time, you will always have the easy access to implement your cardio routine.

I have yet to meet a man who doesn’t have 10-15 minutes of spare time per day. The beauty of treadmill training is that you can burn anywhere from 150-300 calories in under 15 minutes depending on the intensity of your routine.

Many of my clients that I train have bought treadmills for at home use. Some of them will run or do a cardio routine for 15 minutes upon first waking up. This is the luxury of having a treadmill at home. It requires very little time or commitment to get your routine in.

There is a few key tips you must follow before buying a treadmill. The most important thing you must consider is how you will be using the treadmill. Every treadmill serves a different purpose. Some treadmills are mostly for brisk walking and jogging and don’t have the durability or frame to support high intensity training and sprints.

Some treadmills have different levels of comfort or support. If you are suffering from an injury or have bad ankles, knees, and joints – some treadmills may not be suitable. Every treadmill has a different running deck. For instance the Sole Treadmills have a built in cushion flex deck system that makes them extremely suitable for anyone with bad joints. Some of the cheaper treadmill options lack these features.

Some treadmills tend to break down routinely and have to have many parts replaced frequently. You must do your research before buying a treadmill. With the amount of online websites dedicated to treadmill reviews, you have easy access to some great buying information.

The most important thing you must decide is what your price range is. When comparing different treadmills, you have to keep in mind the price range. Sure you can get a 3,000 dollar treadmill with just about every bell and whistle known to mankind, but you have to ask yourself if you will be using these features and if they are needed. If you are just looking for a very simple running experience for you’re home convenience, some of the higher end treadmills may not work. If you are looking to use your treadmill every day and run at a fast pace, you want one that is extremely durable.

Another important tip before buying a treadmill is to check the warranty on all major components. Most treadmills offer a different warranty on the belt, motor, frame, etc. Some of the good warranties will offer a lifetime replacement of major parts. If you are looking to use your treadmill very consistently you must buy one that has an outstanding warranty. Replacing treadmill parts can be very pricey and time consuming so you want to avoid this at all cost.

Another tip that you have to keep in mind is where you will be storing the treadmill. Some treadmills are very light weight, easy to store and have folding deck designs. Some are extremely heavy, bulky and would not suit someone with a small apartment or limited space. Treadmills vary greatly in weight and the amount of space they take to store. This is an important facet to think about. For instance if you live on the 4th story of an apartment with only a staircase it may not be in your best interest to buy a 600 lb treadmill!

It is very important to analyze the weight, durability, warranty, price differentiations and purpose of your treadmill before buying it. One treadmill may work great for one consumer but be a terrible choice for another. Do your homework and read your reviews and pick out the treadmill that best suits your complex needs.
